Jennifer Bass and Stephanie A. Sanders are in the studio tonight to talk about a new monthly segment called Marriage Equality: Stories from the Heartland. Jennifer Bass is project director of Marriage Equality; Stories from the Heartland, with the department of Gender Studies at IU. She joined the Kinsey Institute in 1995 as a research associate. A faculty member at IU Bloomington for over 30 years, Stephanie Sanders is a Provost Professor and Peg Zeglin Brand Chair of Gender Studies, a Senior Scientist at The Kinsey Institute, a Senior Research Fellow for the Rural Center for AIDS/STD Prevention, and a Core Faculty Partner for the Center for Sexual Health Promotion.

Marriage Equality: Stories from the Heartland is an ongoing project dedicated to recording stories from same-sex couples about their journeys into marriage. Sponsored by the Indiana University’s Department of Gender Studies, the Office for Vice President for Research New Frontiers program, and the IU Bloomington Arts and Humanities Council. Bloomington Pride’s LGBT Aging & Caring Network meets monthly to support senior citizens who are LGBTQ along with allies
They hold two breakfasts each month and all are welcome. They provide support, plan social activities, and creates educational opportunities for the aging LGBTQ population in Monroe County and surrounding communities within the Bloomington Pride organization.
They meet the first Wednesday AND the third Friday each month. Both are at 10 AM at the Cloverleaf South 325 E Winslow Rd, Bloomington, IN 47401.
