Beleaguered Attorney General Announces Clergy Sexual Assault Form

Indiana Attorney General Curtis Hill’s Office announced it’s put together an online form for Indiana residents who may have experienced sexual abuse, at the hands of religious leaders.

The form is not meant to be used by minors, which it directs to the Indiana Child Abuse and Neglect Hotline. The form specifies it is meant for victims of clergy abuse, i.e. ordained religious leaders, particularly of the Christian faith.

AG Hill is himself embroiled in allegations of sexual misconduct and assault. The state’s highest-ranking law enforcement officer is accused by four women, including a Democratic lawmaker of repeatedly groping them during a legislative party, in March 2018.

Hill has repeatedly denied the allegations and hired a legal defense team, funded in part by taxpayer dollars, although no charges have been filed against him. State leadership, including fellow Republicans House Speaker Brian Bosma, Secretary of State Connie Lawson, and Governor Eric Holcomb have called for Hill’s resignation. He has refused.
