Arts Alliance Board President Rachael Himsel

Play

The Arts Alliance of Greater Bloomington at last has a home it can call its own. The long-standing arts advocacy organization signed a lease this month to occupy a space at the College Mall on the east side. Board president Himsel had tried to persuade the board to seek a brick and mortar site for several years. Then, a chance meeting between her and a mall administrative employee at Lucky’s Market this past summer suddenly opened a door for the deal to happen. The AAGB plans to move into the space before the end of the year. Himsel talks about the organization’s structure and its plans for the future.

Host Michael Glab goes one-on-one with Bloomington’s most fascinating people every Thursday at 5:30pm. Tune in for a bonus feature, Big Talk Extra, every Monday on the Daily Local News at 5:00pm for added chat from the previous week’s show.
