April 20, 2011: Taxes Spike in R-BB School Destrict

Play

Many residents in the Richland Bean Blossom School Corporation’s taxing district have seen their property taxes increase when tax bills came out last week. The Monroe County Auditors offices says that, on average, residents in RBBSC’s district are seeing about a sixty six percent increase over 2010. Some of that is a result of RBBSC’s financing of school projects but other factors are at play as well like increased assessed property values. At the Richland Bean Blossom School Board meeting Monday night, residents upset about their bills came to speak their mind. In today’s feature, we’ll hear Board Member Dana Kerr response after listening to over an hour of audience comments in this WFHB radio exclusive.
