Activate! – Melinda Swenson: Volunteers in Medicine of Monroe County

Play

When Melinda Swenson retired as a nurse practitioner and instructor after 32 years in those positions, she looked around for a way that she could continue to contribute her knowledge and skills as a volunteer. Discovering the Volunteers in Medicine Clinic was the perfect match for Melinda’s need to continue caring for individuals and to contribute to Bloomington as a compassionate community. Melinda is excited to continue her service to the VIM Clinic in the role of a nurse practitioner for those who have barriers to healthcare and to be a part of a team of practitioners and administrative volunteers who are committed to prioritizing their patient’s needs. She is energized by her service and inspired by the people she engages with during her time at VIM.
