FEATURE:  Nate Powell is the first and only cartoonist to win the National Book Award. The Little Rock, Arkansas native now lives in Bloomington, Indiana. His work “March” is a graphic novel that details the life of Congressman and Civil Rights leader John Lewis. He is the founder of Harlan Records, and has performed in punk bands “Soophie Nun Squad” and “Universe,” and worked for a decade providing care to adults with disabilities while cartooning. In a special arts edition of today’s Feature Report, WFHB’s Interchange producer Doug Storm speaks with Powell about his latest work, Come Again, an ominous depiction of Powell’s home state of Arkansas.
