Play

How do you turn glass into art? The Lawrence Family Glassblowers have been answering that question for the last 57 years.

Jim Lawrence and his twin brother John have been glassblowing since the age of eight and have been located in Nashville, Indiana for nearly 50 years. But glassblowing isn’t as easy as Jim makes it look. It’s a tedious craft that took the Lawrence brothers nearly two decades to perfect. Since opening their store in 1976, the Lawrence family has found joy in inspiring others and providing their customers with one-of-a-kind art.

Listen along to hear how Jim and John got started glassblowing and their reflections on the craft 57 years later. Plus, Jim walks listeners through the process of making a glass horse.

Jim Lawrence crafts a horse out of glass.
