Five million people are expected to tune in for the season 50 premiere of Survivor this Wednesday. At least a dozen of them will be members of the Live Reality Games at IU club in Bloomington, hosting a watch party Wednesday at 7:45pm in Ballantine Hall room 143. The Live Reality Games club does local versions of popular TV shows featuring students and townies. Club founder Sam Cohen used to be part of Survivor at Indiana, where the game lasted almost all semester. Last fall he taped an entire season of Survivor: Dunn Meadow in one day and posts the episodes to the Live Reality Games at IU YouTube page. There you will also find a promo for his next project: the IU version of The Floor. We also hear from Dr. Brenda Weber, who studies reality TV and its social impact.
