State Has Until May 20 to File Appeal to Annexation Suit

The midnight amendment to the state’s 2017 budget bill unconstitutionally singled out Bloomington’s annexation plans, according to Thursday’s preliminary ruling by Monroe County Judge Frank Nardi.

The city of Bloomington is suing the state of Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb’s office, for violating the state’s constitution by singling out Bloomington, in last minute additions to the 2018-2019 budget bill. Judge Nardi sided with the city in a preliminary decision, last week.
