The Islamic Center of Bloomington is set to hold a vigil this coming weekend, after a terrorist attack on a Mosque in Christchurch, New Zealand left 50 worshipers dead.
Katie Barrus, speaking on behalf of the Islamic Center of Bloomington, said area residents and religious organizations reached out to support the area’s most prominent Muslim community.
“We received a lot of letters… and that response led to the formation of this event,” she told WFHB.
Barrus said other area religious organizations will speak at Sunday’s Memorial for Christchurch Victims.
