Born in Iran and based in Canada since 1996, santur player Amir Amiri has an extensive background in Persian classical music and decades of experience in many other styles. He spoke with WFHB programmer Adriane Pontecorvo about his instrument, his musicking philosophies, and upcoming album Metamorphose, an album made in collaboration with tabla player Shawn Mativetsky and harpist Sarah Pagé. Metamorphose is out March 20, 2026.
