Hearabouts: Perspectives from City Govt. with Toyia Moss

Play

Welcome to the 75th episode of Hearabouts: Asian American Midwest Radio. Hearabouts is produced by Indiana University’s Asian Culture Center in collaboration with WFHB. We ask critical questions about identity, culture, community, and shared assumptions. This episode is produced by Ming Wang and Joanna Kung.

In this episode, we interviewed Toyia Moss, the Safe and City Director for Bloomington, to get a fresh perspective on the role of city government within IU, its students, and the community as a whole. Still reeling from the January hate crime on an Asian student, we discuss how to bridge the gaps between students and the community.
