On Wednesday, Oct. 9th, we welcomed North Carolina based singer-songwriter, M.C. Taylor to the studio for a very special Hiss Golden Messenger solo session – ahead of his show at The Buskirk Chumley Theater with Hannah Frances! The show was a benefit for Amethyst House, a Bloomington, IN based not-for-profit substance use disorder treatment program that has been in the Bloomington community since 1980. We talked about the evolution of Hiss Golden Messenger, Hurricane Helene, releasing music, his love of recording, The Grateful Dead, and more! He played Nu-Grape and Sanctuary – and the icing on the cake was Lay Your Head On My Shoulder, a Kris Kristofferson cover, who sadly had passed away just a few weeks before the session. This one is not to be missed!
