IU First Thursdays

First Thursdays showcase the diversity of arts and humanities at IU Bloomington and offer a welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff, and community members to explore new creative outlets.

September’s event will be a kick-off to the school year that is open to all with dozens of arts and humanities partners hosting special activities, demonstrations, giveaways, and more. Around the plaza, there will be t-shirt upcycling, collaborative textile making, soap-carving, and computer gaming among many other activities. On the stage, we’ll have an interactive birthday celebration in honor of salsa legend Celia Cruz alongside performances by the African American Choral Ensemble, Bloomington Delta Music Club, and IU Jacobs Opera.
