Two sets of great jazz music. Enjoy the big band sound of the Tom Walsh Jazz Ensemble performing music by Toshiko Akiyoshi, Benny Golson, Eliane Elias, Vincent Youmans, Gordon Goodwin, Bill Liston, and Esbjörn Svensson.
The second set features the Plummer Jazz Sextet, directed by Greg Ward, with special guest saxophonist Melissa Aldana. Grammy-nominated and winner of the prestigious Thelonious Monk International Jazz Saxophone Competition, Aldana is a Blue Note recording artist and a founding member of the group all-women supergroup Artemis. Her most recent recording is 12 Stars on the Blue Note label.
