Citizens’ Climate Lobby: Price Carbon, Pay People

On Wednesday, September 26 at 6 pm Richard Durisen, retired Professor of Astronomy at Indiana University, and David Mann, owner of MPI Solar, will present a talk entitled, “Citizens’ Climate Lobby: Price Carbon, Pay People.” Citizens’ Climate Lobby is an international, non-partisan organization promoting the passage of legislation to create a form of carbon pricing called carbon fee and dividend, where fees are levied on the extraction of fossil fuels and are returned fully to households on an equitable basis. Models show that this can actually benefit the economy while causing rapid reductions in greenhouse gas emissions. We will discuss the methods and philosophy of CCL and talk about ways that people can become involved in supporting the effort.
