Archaeology for Restorative Justice

Since June 2021, Dr. Jeremy Wilson (Anthropology, IU-Indianapolis) has been part of a multidisciplinary team working towards identifying, exhuming, and analyzing individuals murdered during the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre and destruction of Black Wall Street. In this talk, he will share his path to the project, summarize the field investigations and lab work completed so far, and highlight the valuable contributions that archaeologists can make in restorative justice projects.
