For my birthday this year, my family suggested an intimate family party. Wonderful idea! But the more I thought about it, the more I realized what I’d really also love is to gather some of the people whose paths have crossed with mine — those shared moments that helped shape our journeys, filled our lives with memories, and left impressions that last to this day.
So if that describes and includes you (and I hope it does), I’d rather not wait for a “celebration of life” I probably wouldn’t get to enjoy. Let’s celebrate now — together — with food, drink, music, memories, stories, laughter, and good company (and yes, you’re welcome to bring a guest). To me, that sounds far better than a posthumous celebration of life, mainly because I get to be there and participate
