For 15 years, B’town Jazz has sponsored a series of jam sessions organized by Monika Herzig and open to anyone who would like to sit in and hone their skills in improvisation and performance – all ages and skill levels. Many of our best high school and middle school students take advantage of this opportunity to work with a professional rhythm section and guest mentors. Some adult participants are also expected this year! Jams are open to the public, so come play or just relax, listen, and have something to eat and drink (areas for all ages available).

A final showcase concert – the “Future of Jazz” – will take place Mar 29 at Jackson Creek Middle School, where guest artist Greg Ward will join some awesome student combos! The annual Al Cobine Award will be presented, as well.
