During this event, we will celebrate our courageous Veterans, military, emergency personnel, and Front Line Workers who kept us safe during the Pandemic.
This fabulous night of fun will feature:
* The 1940s big band sounds of swing and jazz from the Shyaam Akasha Band.
* Bloomington’s own, Connie Shakalis, our evening’s lively emcee, who will arrive as “Rosie the Riveter”
* A Buffet-style dinner, and a special cocktail, “Sentimental Journey”
* Success stories from some of My Sister’s Closet’s remarkable clients.
* And many, many live auction items featuring vacations, local experiences, art, jewelry, and one very unique item, an authentic, WWII Bomber Jacket, donated with a bullet in the pocket!
Attire: Service Uniforms, WWII Nightclub and Cocktail Attire
All proceeds for this event will support the free tools and training services provided by My Sister’s Closet of Monroe County, whose primary funding was hit especially hard during the Pandemic. MSC has provided free employment assistance to over 2,700 determined women, many, who are Veterans, Military Family Members, and Front Line Workers; all who are working hard to move out of poverty by finding sustainable employment.
