From Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, to the global stage, Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio grew up immersed in the rich musical heritage of his beloved island, which he highlights in his music. Bad Bunny has also been vocal about issues affecting Puerto Rico, including Hurricane Maria, gentrification, and the destruction and privatization of nature. This exhibit presents moments from Bad Bunny’s career, with an emphasis on his use of bomba, plena, and jíbaro music on the 2025 album DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS.

Come together to celebrate this historic moment as Bad Bunny provides the soundtrack to the Super Bowl. Already being dubbed the “Benito Bowl,” Bad Bunny has created a unique platform for Puerto Ricans around the world to share their culture and identity with a global audience.

The soft work of staying – a Gather After Hours event @ Gather : handmade shoppe & Co, 116 N Walnut, Bloomington
Feb 6 @ 5:00 pm

the soft work of staying
Photography and words by Talia Halliday
Join us for a multi-tiered evening of art, words, and making—an immersive experience unfolding throughout Gather.
In the Gallery, The Soft Act of Staying opens as a photography exhibition paired with intimate, powerful writing by Talia Halliday, tracing the quiet ways plants have held space through grief. The work explores staying—staying present, staying tender, staying alive—when loss reshapes everything.
In the back of Gather, a small stage comes to life with spoken word from local poets, offering voices that echo, expand, and respond to the themes of grief, resilience, and becoming.
At the heart of the store, the DIY Bar invites you into the circle: paint a planter as an act of joy. Because joy and grief are not opposites—they arrive together, each giving shape to the other. Create something bright. Sit with something heavy. Let both be true.
Come wander, listen, make, and stay awhile.

James Adomian (shows at 7pm & 9:15pm) @ The Comedy Attic, upstairs at 123 South Walnut, Bloomington, the corner of Walnut and 4th Street
Feb 6 @ 7:00 pm

James Adomian is a comedian from California, but his impact can truly be considered global or even cosmic. As a voiceover artist he has appeared on a hundred cartoons and a thousand podcasts. As an on-camera (i.e. “real”) actor, he has enjoyed some amusing failures and tolerated a few partial successes across television, cinema, and the world wide web. James is one of those performers who plays “deep characters” so people often do not connect that he was “that guy” who they loved so much from some particular thing.

On the stage he is a living god, an incarnation of Dionysus, meaning he is often drunk and largely available for bookings. He has been to Armenia twice but still can’t seem to convince anyone that he is Armenian. James is a proud Aquarius, and he is very, very Aquarian to the point where you would think he’s doing a bit when you meet him.

Almost since its inception, PBS has been a political football. Even so it continues to be one of the most trusted institutions in America. But even many of PBS’ champions do not know where PBS came from, how it is structured or how it is funded. Steve Krahnke, former Senior Lecturer at the Indiana University Media School, a 30 year veteran of PBS stations and program production, and executive producer of the award-winning Cuba: The Forgotten Revolution, provides some clarity.

A brief reception will follow the lecture.

Feb 8 @ 2:30 pm

Composed for the first day of Christmas during his employment at the court of Weimar, this resplendent work is one of Bach’s earliest cantatas to make use of recitatives and arias, a new kind of text that replaced an older form restricted mainly to chorales. With festive instrumentation including four trumpets, drums, three oboes, and bassoon, along with doubled voices, “Christen, ätzet diesen Tag” is one of the composer’s most exciting–and one might even say splashiest–pieces. Join BBCP Director Daniel R. Melamed as he music directs and offers the lecture between performances.

Feb 10 @ 7:00 pm

Brett Kashmere’s 2014 film From Deep is an essay-style documentary that interrogates the game of basketball and its place in American culture. Offering both critical sports history and experimental filmmaking, Kashmere blends archival footage, mixtape aesthetics, and social commentary to trace basketball’s evolution in U.S. culture, specifically in African American communities. This inventive blend of experimental form and social consciousness of sport marks a significant intervention in the contemporary sport documentary landscape.
