Join us for a day of fresh produce, handmade goods, and local flavors at the Owen County Farmers’ Market! Whether you’re looking for the freshest vegetables, beautiful flowers, local honey, unique crafts, or plant starts, there’s something for everyone.
The City of Bloomington’s Commission on the Status of Women is hosting the 3rd Annual Women’s Market. This market will feature 28 booths from local businesses and independent artists. Whether you’re into original paintings, handmade soaps, portrait photography or fresh flowers, this market has something for everyone.
Located in our overflow parking lot on the West side of the funeral home, vendors will be on hand with fresh produce, honey, homemade baked goods, handmade crafts and jewelry, fundraisers, food trucks and non-for profit community organizations.
Many vendors accept Venmo, Paypal, Apple and Android Pay.
Public restrooms are available at our market.
This workshop is designed for dogs who have some basic training but struggle with leash manners and impulse control in real-world environments. In this workshop, you’ll:
• Learn how dogs think, communicate, and respond to stimuli
• Explore the emotional roots of excited behavior and barrier frustration
• Receive hands-on guidance using tools such as clickers, treats, gentle leaders, calming touch, leashes, and harnesses
• Discover how to manage, modify, and train using positive reinforcement techniques
• Practice leash handling strategies to reduce pulling and frustration on both ends of the leash
Please note: This workshop is not suitable for dogs with a history of aggression or biting.

Hosted by the Founder of Graham’s Foundation, Nicholas Hall, this will be an opportunity to learn more about Graham’s Foundation, volunteer and help assemble care packages that are shipped free to parents of premature babies and buy a one of a kind piece of art with 100% of the proceeds supporting Graham’s Foundation.
Graham’s Foundation was founded in 2009 in memory of Nicholas’s son, to help educate and inform preemie parents so they feel empowered and confident while they navigate the journey of prematurity.

Maddie Wiener is a stand-up comedian with a style described as “irreverent humor…with a streak of brazenness,” and “abrasive and likable at the same time.” This past fall she made her Tonight-Show-starring-Jimmy-Fallon debut.
This is a special performance of the captain’s new suite of compositions dedicated to the awesome power and majesty of the ocean. Coupled with a light and projection presentation that is truly one of a kind, this is a particular slice of interdimensional space and time that really shouldn’t be missed. Doors open at 6:30.

William Covert – synthesizer + drums – Chicago, IL
After drumming in bands like Space Dust, Droughts, and Rust Ring, William Covert set out composing music for synthesizer and drums which he could perform solo. Creating without regard to any genre, “it’s not punk music for synthesizer and drums, it’s not jazz music for synthesizer and drums, it’s just Music for Synthesizer and Drums…fully composed songs as well as quasi-improvised pieces that play off the beauty of imperfections inherent with analog synthesizers and acoustic drums that keeps the music lively, but not sterile. This is weird music made for weird people.” William has played in Bloomington numerous times, and this will be his first solo performance here.

Baritone Richard Lewis and friends’ annual concert returns to support Fairview Elementary School literacy and arts integration programs. Our 15th annual concert is a romantic comedy love triangle! Two feuding exes show up to perform at a gala concert, brought together by their manager who wants to barter a truce – but who has another motive as well. Will romantic chemistry save the day, or will everyone declare that they are done – and down – with love?

Every Monday includes fun skating, cardio challenges, dance moves, skills lessons, a good stretch, and support from veteran roller derby skaters.

New English speakers will practice everyday language skills in a relaxed, informal atmosphere.
No registration required for this hands-on class that teaches kids of all ages confidence and curiosity in the kitchen. Try new recipes, inspired by the pantry and the garden, each week.
These events are open to the public, with no registration or experience required (though we appreciate advance notice for groups of 5+ people). We simply ask that you dress appropriately to do outdoor work, and bring plenty of water to stay hydrated. Snacks and drinks will be provided as well as any other tools you may need to help out!

The City’s Assistant Director of Sustainability, Shawn Miya, and Sustainability Program Coordinator, Jolie Perry, will highlight the grants and rebates available to residents, small businesses, and nonprofits to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and increase resilience to climate change. From solar panels, batteries, heat pumps, and insulation, to tree plantings, neighborhood gardens, cool roofs, and more, the City provides resources for the community to make these projects happen. Miya and Perry will also share news about potential incoming sources of federal grant dollars for community-wide energy efficiency and solar installations. Listeners will find out how to apply for funding and what community input the City needs for upcoming projects.
**Cerridwen Kennedy** will share a collection of her own contemporary poetry, centered on growing up in a neo-pagan household and her relationship with spirituality as an adult.
Cerridwen is a poet and aspiring author. She spent the majority of her childhood in libraries, reading just about anything she could get her hands on. As an adult, not much has changed. She spends a lot of time between stacks of books, exploring new worlds, and learning from other perspectives. Writing and telling stories is something she holds near and dear to her heart.
**Jennifer Lynn Christie** will read a retelling of the French fairy tale, “The White Cat” written by Marjorie Sandor. Following her reading, Jennifer will share her perspective on why fairy tales are potent and fun vessels of modern storytelling. Questions and conversation encouraged!
Jennifer’s short stories have appeared in The Georgia Review, PANK, Atticus Review, and elsewhere. She has written book reviews for the Denver Quarterly, Entropy, Newfound, and Full Stop, and for two years she served as the Assistant Small Press Editor for Entropy.
She has recently completed her first novel and is seeking representation.

We’ll start out with a short introduction session and play the 9-hole disc golf course at Arlington Heights Elementary School. If you have never played, no worries, you can practice throwing discs before playing the course.
Bottled water and discs will be provided but it’s good to bring your own as well.
