An IU grad and native of Indianapolis, John Young is the author of two literary novels: Getting Huge and When the Coin Is in the Air, as well as Fire in the Field & Other Stories. When he was eight years old, John told his mother he wanted to be a scientist or a clown. So he went into advertising and figures he got pretty close. He also earned an MFA from Emerson College, Boston.
After 20 years in Massachusetts, he now lives with his wife and two kids in Cincinnati, Ohio.

For the past thirty-five years Mike Van Vooren has been carving limestone.
He is also an avid amateur musician who plays guitar, bass, saxophone, and drums
and compares his approach to sculpting limestone to that of an improvising jazz
musician. This show represents some of his limestone carving from a musical
perspective.
Mike has produced visual art in many media including drawing, pastel, oil,
acrylic, digital photography, and limestone. His work is represented in collections
world-wide.
Upon graduating with a degree in English Literature in 1972, he
immediately began an intensive and ongoing self-instruction in visual art and
art history. He moved to Bloomington in 1974 where he was a founding
member of the Artist’s Co-op of 25 community artists, graduate students
and instructors at Indiana University.

Center’s Kurt Vonnegut Altar.

The Bedford Farmers Market consists of local farmers, artisans and bakers; all items for sale at the market are handmade/homegrown in Lawrence County and within 75 miles from courthouse. Products available at the Bedford Farmers Market include fresh produce, plants, farm fresh eggs, local beef, chicken and pork, baked goods, jams, jellies, sweet bread, pies, cinnamon rolls, jewelry, tie-dye, pottery, leather goods, baby items, candles, walking sticks, baskets, crochet dolls/animals and a variety of other art/craft items.

Summary:
After a hive-minded alien race called the Boov conquers the Earth, they relocate the planet’s human population—all except for a little girl named Tip, who’s managed to hide from the aliens. When Tip meets a fugitive Boov called Oh, there’s mutual distrust. However, Oh is not like his comrades; he craves friendship and fun. As their distrust fades, the pair set out together to find Tip’s mother, but, unbeknown to them, the Gorg—enemies of the Boov—are en route.
