Preserving your memories, archiving, and sharing them can be a powerful way to connect with friends and family. In this open house, we’ll teach you how to create digital files using our new Memory Preservation Station. You can use a cloud storage account like Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, or Dropbox to save your content. Another option is to use a USB flash drive––you can bring your own or check one out from the Library for temporary use.
For decades, feminist and queer scholars have pointed out that erotophobia is connected to a masculine and colonial relation to the earth, and yet, within environmental movements the affects of sincerity, outrage, and anxiety are often emphasized. What, in pleasure, in joy, and laughter, are we afraid of? And how might this connect to a queer environmental politics? The talk and discussion will be followed by a screening of Shawna Dempsey and Lorri Millan’s video Lesbian Park Rangers.
Featured reader will be Jenny Kander followed by a lightning round of poets: Tony Brewer, Doris Lynch, Tonia Matthew, Roger Pfingston, Eric Rensberger, Shana Ritter, Anya Royce, Margaret Squires, and Thomas Tokarski, with music by Jason Fickel.

A budding childhood romance between Nora and Hae Sung, classmates at a primary school in Seoul, ends abruptly when Nora’s family emigrates to Canada. Two decades later, they are reunited in New York for one fateful week as they confront notions of destiny and love, and the choices that make a life.
A young boy named Ralphie Parker only wants one thing for Christmas: a Red Ryder BB gun. However, he is not sure he will ever make it to Christmas, between his brother Randy and the school bully Scut Farkus. Whenever he tells someone how much he wants it, he/she tells him that he will shoot his eye out and refuses to get it for him. Even a department store Santa Claus tells him the same thing. After Ralphie gets a C+, he gets teased again by Scut. In response, Ralphie beats him very badly while cursing loudly. However, his parents do not get mad at him, and on Christmas morning, he gets the BB gun, since his father had one at that age. When he goes to try it out, the BB ricochets and knocks off his glasses, which he accidentally steps upon while looking for them. He makes up a story about an icicle, and his parents believe him. In the end, a horde of dogs come in and steal the Christmas turkey, so his family goes out for “Chinese turkey,” or duck.
It’s the eve of Christmas in northern Finland, and an ‘archeological’ dig has just unearthed the real Santa Claus. But this particular Santa isn’t the one you want coming to town. When the local children begin mysteriously disappearing, young Pietari and his father Rauno, a reindeer hunter by trade, capture the mythological being and attempt to sell Santa to the misguided leader of the multinational corporation sponsoring the dig. Santa’s elves, however, will stop at nothing to free their fearless leader from captivity. What ensues is a wildly humorous nightmare – a fantastically bizarre polemic on modern day morality.
