The Wylie House Museum may have one of the oldest ginkgo trees in Indiana. Nicknamed “the living fossil,” the ginkgo tree species dates to 245 to 66 million years ago, which means trees like the one at the Wylie House would have coexisted with the dinosaurs here on Earth. Come preserve your own piece of arbor history by exploring the unique features of the trees around the Wylie House and getting creative with waxing leaves.

Freedoms under Assault is a powerful full-length documentary that chronicles the systematic destruction of a world-class university and the politically motivated culture war against its faculty over a two-year period. A perfect storm of an autocratic university president collaborating with a supermajority reactionary state legislature following the ideological agenda of the White House has effectively curtailed the institutional autonomy of Indiana University as well as shared governance structures, academic freedom, free speech and assembly rights, tenure, and the viability of arts and humanities programs.
The documentary shows the lengths to which a university administration is willing to silence, intimidate, persecute, and even exile faculty members in accord with arbitrary policies and “financial exigencies.” The film is co-directed/produced by Robert Arnove, IU Chancellor’s Professor Emeritus of Education, and award-winning documentarian, Jacky Comforty.

Award winning author, researcher, and lecturer, Raymond Szymanski, had an outstanding forty-year engineering career at the fabled Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB). He is the acknowledged expert on WPAFB and its alien connections. In his first book, Fifty Shades of Greys: Evidence of Extraterrestrial Visitation to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and Beyond, Raymond reveals compelling photographic evidence and research that supports long-held rumors of Wright-Patterson’s alien involvement. His 2nd book, Victoria’s Secret Truth, presents an in-depth, convincing, two-year case study for Close Encounters of the 7th Kind that crosses multiple generations of the same family. His most recent book, Swamp Gas My Ass (SGMA), reveals the true exploits of two American heroes who intercepted the famous 1966 Michigan ‘Swamp Gas’ UFO, an interplanetary visitor that government officials tried to explain away as “marsh gas”. This book was featured in The Science Channel series, Mission Unexplained, which aired in June 2023, and has aired on several other prominent cable channels.
If you’d like to purchase one of Raymond’s titles, please bring cash! He is unable to take payment with credit cards at this time.

Almost since its inception, PBS has been a political football. Even so it continues to be one of the most trusted institutions in America. But even many of PBS’ champions do not know where PBS came from, how it is structured or how it is funded. Steve Krahnke, former Senior Lecturer at the Indiana University Media School, a 30 year veteran of PBS stations and program production, and executive producer of the award-winning Cuba: The Forgotten Revolution, provides some clarity.

This fall will mark the 76th annual feature film from Warren Miller Entertainment. Since the first film debuted in 1949, Warren Miller has been capturing the stories of skiers and riders across the globe. Each fall, the film tour celebrates the start of the season with the largest gathering of snow enthusiasts.
The film, titled “SNO-CIETY,” is not just about snow—it’s about the tight-knit community, shared rituals, and sense of belonging that come with snow culture. The film explores a world where snow creates its own society, bound together by mountain life, adventure, and seasonal tradition.
“SNO-CIETY” takes viewers on a journey from the Scottish Highlands and the streets of Finland to the back bowls of Whitewater, BC, and a local hill-turned-terrain park in downtown Denver. With a unique, fun, and motivational narrative, the film celebrates both the action and the camaraderie of winter. A diverse lineup of Olympians, urban riders, and local legends including Judd Henkes, Britta Winans, and many more, uncover what drives us to chase powder year after year.

In the mid-70’s, James Szalapski captured lightning in a bottle, a fleeting moment in music history. Namely, the birth of Outlaw Country Music, heralding a new, close-knit generation of renegade musicians, inspired by Willie and Waylon.
Typically, they gathered at Guy and Susanna Clark’s home in Nashville or at Townes van Zandt’s trailer in Austin, to play each other’s songs deep into the night. Turning their backs on the corporate establishment, they formed a soulful community prizing personal, beaautifully crafted songwriting above all else. Resolute romantic poets, they chose their own path.
Buried for 25 years, Heartworn Highways is now revered as a classic, seminal work that offers a rare, unfiltered look into the lives of the artists who shaped and redefined the genre. As photographed by Szalapski, the camera becomes an unseen guest, roaming casually beyond social borders, bringing us into another world of American roots music exposing its open heart and gritty innocence.
Featuring: Guy Clark, Townes van Zandt, David Allen Coe, Rodney Crowell, Larry Jon Wilson, Steve Young, Gamble Rogers, Charlie Daniels Band, Steve Earle… and their many friends.
Katie and Delaney, inseparable since childhood, find their paths diverging in their 30s. While Katie is happily living with her boyfriend, Delaney is single with a roommate. Despite these differences, their friendship is still a top priority, and they’ve always been the most important person in each other’s lives. That is, until Katie’s boyfriend proposes. To soften the blow, Katie plans a nostalgic trip to their childhood beach town, intending to break the news softly. But the trip takes (many) unexpected turns as Katie and Delaney try to work out what it means to be adult best friends. [120 min; comedy; English]
This screening will be followed by a Q&A with director Delaney Buffett, a writer and director from Florida.
