*SPECIAL video Q&A with Swamp Dogg + Moogstar
Introduction by Music Supervisor Jessica Berndt (Secretly Group).
In SWAMP DOGG GETS HIS POOL PAINTED, the titular artist and his “bachelor pad of aging musicians”, including the charming Guitar Shorty and lovably quirky Moogstar, navigate the tumultuous music industry, transform their home into an artistic playground and invite fellow musicians like Jenny Lewis and John Prine and superfans Mike Judge, Johnny Knoxville and Tom Kenny to play in their unique musical sandbox…and paint Swamp Dogg’s pool. Bursting with infectious personality and stoner energy, SWAMP DOGG GETS HIS POOL PAINTED is a music documentary unlike any other.
EV Mae is a country music singer, songwriter and Clarksville Creative Sound recording artist from southern Indiana who recently moved to Clarksville, TN to pursue her dream of becoming a well-known female country artist. She is a truck drivin’, boot wearin’ girl who fell for classic country music from her parents’ influence at a very young age. By the time EV Mae was 9 years old, she knew she wanted a career in music.
Drawing her musical inspiration from classics such as Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline and George Jones; and current artists like Zach Top, Lainey Wilson and Megan Moroney. EV Mae works to create her own unique sound that blends Americana and classic country.
Presented by Stages Bloomington, it’s a riotous ride, complete with audience participation, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is a delightful den of comedic genius.

Vaguerriffic: solo project of Adeptive Radiation bandleader John Knight, joined on keyboard tonight by Matt Rouge of Frugal Gormets. Matt and John have been playing together for over 15 years, collaging bits and pieces of ‘popular’ song into structures of another music theory entirely. The resulting songs may sound alien and chaotic but come from a mash which has been slowly fermenting, blending flavors and mixing ideas.

Sophie Payten’s (aka Gordi) professional lives are split in an almost perverse way, between a healthcare professional who needs to shut off the emotional valve and the songwriter whose job it is to flood the room. What better way to interrogate that contradiction than in a song?
Payten has learned the hard way of the need to be malleable, to form and reform in response to her environment and circumstances and self. The pandemic – a moment where we all lost control of our reliable structures and were instead completely shaped by our surroundings – prompted Payten to think about “What are the moments where you really transform in your life? I think grief is one of those things. Love is one of those things. Queerness is one of those things. And so is going into the next act of life.”

The warm, electronic sound of Advance Base has been described as “lo-fi,” “depressed” & “weirdly uplifting.”
