The Tillers – (Cincinnati Oh) The Tillers have been thumping their own distinctive sound of string band style folk music for a decade, riding it all over the country and across the sea. Four studio albums and one live record have won them praise as modern folk storytellers of the national soundscape.

Deep Country Dream – Another iteration of Matt Lundquist’s musical landscape this string trio will bring the front porch inside. Backed up by Michael Lindeau and Devin Brown these timeless songs of southern Indiana effortlessly fill the air like dust in a sunbeam.

Liv La Fluv – Liv LaFluv is a midwestern cutiepie music maker. She reaches into an imperfect world and spins beautiful yarns full of adventure, heartbreak, humor, and hopeful promise. Her voice draws you in with its effortless dynamic range. She has a fire in her belly and a twinkle in her eye! Watch out!

Luke Foster- I am a young poet and filmmaker from northern indiana. I started writing consistently in early 2024, and have compiled a book of poems I plan to release by the end of the summer. Ive been hosting a monthly poetry circle out of my home for about a year.

Cicada Cinema Screening: Secret Mall Apartment @ FAR Center for Contemporary Arts, 202 South Rogers St., Bloomington
Jul 13 @ 6:00 pm

Post-film video Q&A with artists Michael Townsend and Leah Smith!
Synopsis: In 2003, eight young Rhode Islanders created a secret apartment in a hidden space inside the Providence Place Mall and lived in it for four years, filming everything along the way. They snuck in furniture, tapped into the mall’s electricity, and even secretly constructed a brick wall with a locking door, smuggling in over 2 tons of cinderblock. Far more than just a wild prank, the secret apartment became a deeply meaningful place for all its inhabitants – a personal expression of defiance against local gentrification, a boundary-pushing work of public/private art, and finally, a 750 square foot space that sticks it to the man!

Author Event with Christine Brennan, USA Today sports columnist and author of the book ‘ON HER GAME: Caitlin Clark and the Revolution in Women’s Sports’ @ Morgenstern Books, 849 Auto Mall Road, Bloomington
Jul 17 @ 6:00 pm

A news-making and electrifying portrait of sports phenomenon Caitlin Clark, whose dramatic ascendance in college basketball and now in the WNBA has captured the attention of media and fans unlike any other female team-sport athlete in history—by award-winning USA TODAY columnist and television commentator Christine Brennan.

America has never seen an athlete quite like Caitlin Clark. Attracting record-shattering attendance and TV ratings, she has riveted the nation with her famous logo threes and thrilling passes and changed how fans across the country view women’s sports. Drawing on dozens of extensive interviews and exclusive, behind-the-scenes reporting, veteran journalist Christine Brennan narrates Clark’s rise—including the formative experiences that led to her scoring more points than any woman or man in major college basketball history—and delivers fascinating new details about Clark’s Olympic snub by USA Basketball, the safety concerns around her that led to charter flights for all players, the WNBA’s lack of preparation for heightened national scrutiny, and troubling outbreaks of jealousy and resentment as a white player became the top story in a predominantly Black league. While On Her Game is an unauthorized biography, Clark answered every question Brennan asked and is quoted extensively throughout the book.
