Mojave Desert singer-songwriter Pat Kearns persists among the most recognizable voices in the high-desert folk-rock landscape, further cemented by winning the Joshua Tree Voice “Joshua” award for Best Male Vocal of 2023. Accompanied by artist/stylist/musician Susan Kearns on stand-up bass; together, they’re The Kearns Family: a wide-brimmed, steely-eyed duo embodying the traditions of ‘60s/70s outlaw/cosmic country. The Kearns Family released their debut album, Together and Alone, in January of 2025.
Beyond the stage and their Landers homestead, the Kearns Family operate under the same roof just a short desert walk from their homestead cabin to their solar-powered Goat Mountain Studio, where Pat engineers/produces records with decades of hard-earned experience while Susan paints on canvas in broad strokes and dresses hair in finer cuts; their marriage of an elevated sonic and visual aesthetic.
