These events are open to the public, with no registration or experience required (though we appreciate advance notice for groups of 5+ people). We simply ask that you dress appropriately to do outdoor work, and bring plenty of water to stay hydrated. Snacks and drinks will be provided as well as any other tools you may need to help out!

Join us on Thursday evenings beginning 6/26 and ending 10/30 to play disc golf.
We’ll start out with a short introduction session and play the 9-hole disc golf course at Arlington Heights Elementary School. If you have never played, no worries, you can practice throwing discs before playing the course.
Bottled water and discs will be provided but it’s good to bring your own as well.

We had so much fun last year for the Holiday Hotdog Eating Contest we are doing it again and opening the playing field.
10 Contestants Compete to see who can eat 5 Hotdogs the Fastest. First one done or with the most after 5 Minutes wins champion
The event is Free to Attend but it costs to compete.

The fireworks, known as the “Greatest Small Town Fireworks in America”, are launched from behind the high school football field and are best viewed from the hill to the west. Fireworks begin at dusk(9pm-10pm)

Parade starts and ends on West 10th Street, between North Walnut St. and North College Ave. The route travels down College Ave. to Kirkwood Ave., East to Walnut St. and then North (up) on Walnut St. to 10th St.

Mark your calendars! The annual Lake Lemon Riddle Point Park fireworks show will take place on Friday July 4th at dusk. As always, you can watch the show from the park, your home, and even on the water.Entrance for the show will begin at 3pm. Come early to secure a spot as we will run out of parking! We will have food trucks on site for your enjoyment!

Youth Day at the Market this Weekend!!
Young farmers, artists, growers and entrepreneurs 6-17 years old will get their own booth spaces on the Fernandez Plaza and some nestled along the periphery of BCFM vendors during this special day for youth at the Market. Youth keep all their profits as they experience a day of running their own stands. Their Market runs from 9 AM to 12:30 PM.
This week, Roger Kerr, Chief of the Bloomington Fire Department, will greet the public at the Bloomington Community Farmers’ Market from 10 AM to 12 PM.
The Bedford Farmers Market consists of local farmers, artisans and bakers; all items for sale at the market are handmade/homegrown in Lawrence County and within 75 miles from courthouse. Products available at the Bedford Farmers Market include fresh produce, plants, farm fresh eggs, local beef, chicken and pork, baked goods, jams, jellies, sweet bread, pies, cinnamon rolls, jewelry, tie-dye, pottery, leather goods, baby items, candles, walking sticks, baskets, crochet dolls/animals and a variety of other art/craft items.
