Anyone is welcome to attend, although programs are geared toward women age 16+.
Several local natural resource and recreation organizations and agencies work together to offer outdoor recreation skills and nature knowledge programs, with a model of women teaching women. To kick off the fifth season, the organizers are hosting a Mini-Expo to offer a sneak peek at what’s in store for 2025, reach new participants and give the opportunity to meet and interact with the instructors.
Participants can drop in to sample some past and future WINGS activities such as wild edibles foraging, basket weaving, outdoor cooking, shooting, fishing, winter tree identification and stand-up paddleboarding. The event will also offer themed snacks (while supplies last) and 2025 activity schedules.
The goal of Women in Nature Gaining Skills (WINGS) is to encourage and empower women with the skills and confidence they need to participate in outdoor recreation activities in the south-central Indiana area. Each WINGS event features women-led hands-on training, with the goal of building a community of women interested in outdoor recreation.

Flesh for Frankenstein, aka Andy Warhol’s Frankenstein (despite having at best a tenuous relationship to Warhol), is a delectably gory and cynical social satire from acclaimed filmmaker Paul Morrissey, who critiques gratuitous sexuality by those very same means. With an exceptional cast, led by Udo Kier, Joe Dallesandro, Monique van Vooren, and Italian child star Nicoletta Elmi, and featuring a lush soundtrack by Claudio Gizzi, Flesh for Frankenstein became an immediate midnight and cult movie sensation.
