Fleck and Washburn met at a square dance and began playing music together a dozen years ago, beginning with the Sparrow Quartet. They married shortly thereafter and became parents to a cute little tot. They’ve been touring the globe as a duo for years, almost nonstop but for each other’s performances with various other musical iterations: Béla with the likes of Béla Fleck and the Flecktones, Chick Corea and Chris Thile, among many others, and Abigail with Wu Fei (a master of the ancient 21-string Chinese zither), The Wu-Force and Uncle Earl.
With the exception of a few restyled traditional tunes, all tracks on Echo in the Valley are originals, and are largely co-written – a different creative approach from their first album, where songs were mostly his or hers.
“This time, we really wanted to truly write together,” Béla adds. “We spent a lot of our time on the lyrics, deciding what we want the songs to communicate, both literally and under the surface.”

The Community Farmers’ Market of Owen County began in 2008 and was renamed to Owen County Farmers Market in 2012. The Owen County Farmers’ Market (OCFM) is committed to supporting locally grown and produced foods and brings the very best and freshest of the season to our community. The OCFM is a producer only market so you can shake the hand of the farmers that grow your food and meet the artisan that made it by hand. Our mission is to provide local producers and their neighbors a gathering place that fosters the connection between our food, our culture, our land, and our environment.
The Market is governed by a nine person Board Member Committee and the Market Season is overseen by a Market Manager. Board members terms are three years with election of new members in December to fill vacancies.
The Market offers entertainment during market days when available. Also when available, workshops on a variety of topics are hosted by volunteers during the market hours.
Vendor items include produce, meat, baked goods, eggs, jams, garden plants, flowers, dog treats, and artisan crafts. The Owen County Farmers Market has something for everyone, so we hope you will come on by for a visit!
We have a variety of vendors at the market including: fresh produce, farm fresh eggs and meats, vegetable and flower garden plants, baked goods, unique hand made crafts, and much more. Visit our vendors page for a listing of our local vendors.
The Woolery Farmers’ Market has a diversity of vendors and products. Enjoy fresh local produce, local meat and poultry, wild Alaskan salmon, dairy products including a wonderful selection of cheese, eggs, honey products, breads, baked goods, locally roasted coffee and specialty teas, beautiful flower bouquets, along with artisanal food and beverages from those small family businesses that you have grown to love.
Come soak up the sunshine with a picnic in our designated picnic area and enjoy live music. Gather with the familiar friendly faces of vendors and friends in the local food community. There is free parking steps away from the market and SNAP benefits are accepted.
The BWFM Board of Directors is working closely with the Monroe County Health Department to ensure the safety of our vendors and patrons. We want everyone to enjoy the market while remaining safe. Please follow these guidelines:
* maintain 6′ social distancing
* please stay home if you are feeling sick
* no eating or drinking within the market, please enjoy your market goodies in our designated picnic area.
Market patrons are welcome to use the East and West Parking areas of One World at Woolery Mill until noon. Patrons are asked to please not climb the steps or visit the fountains or patios without a prior appointment. One World Catering Staff are regularly preparing those areas for events on Saturday mornings and afternoons.
The BWFM is a non-profit organization run by a volunteer Board of Directors composed of farmers, prepared food vendors, and customer representatives.
Funding for the Market comes from vendor fees, grants, and donations. In addition, the BOD hires an independent contractor as the Market Master to manage the Market. The Market Master represents the Market Board, making Market decisions based on policy and guidance from the BOD. The BWFM is NOT affiliated with the City of Bloomington.

All volunteers are welcome, and no experience is necessary, however, as we transition to the “new normal,” we will still be limiting daily attendance to 25 volunteers, and requiring mask-wearing and social-distancing. We also ask that interested groups please schedule ahead. Costume designer James Acheson received an Academy Award for Dangerous Liaisons, in which Glenn Close played the Marquise de Merteuil, the scheming aristocrat, former lover, and rival of John Malkovich’s Valmont. Their mutual devotion to manipulation and seduction as a means of wielding power binds them, even as their plot unravels and their betrayals multiply. Construction of one’s social self, status, and appearance in 18th-century France are significant themes running through the film, and costuming becomes nearly a character itself. Contains sexual violence.
