Have a guitar or mandolin at home that needs dusted off? Love to sing along while you play? Join Nathan Dillon, of Everybody Rocks!, as he walks you through the basics of playing your instrument while you learn to play old familiar songs as well as new ones. For those who want an additional challenge, Nathan will also record a 30 minute lesson on advanced techniques, such as fingerpicking, melody playing, and slide guitar playing. This class is typically only available at the main Endwright Center, but we are excited to be able to offer this class as a virtual option to our East members. We have been applying ourselves to the mission of recording and distributing local music from our home base at Rainwater Studios. This music can be found here on Facebook, on SoundCloud and on our YouTube channel. Originally the studio was a rehearsal space for Kenan Rainwater’s band RAINWATER. After connecting to the world with fiber optic internet, we began sharing live performances. Now we work with dozens of performers from Central Indiana while honing our craft and striving to bring you the best our region has to offer.

Do you want a better understanding of the novel coronavirus? Are there lingering questions in your mind after visiting the CDC website or watching the news? Then join us for a virtual presentation led by our intern and graduating senior, Olyvia Blessinger.
While not yet a professional, Olyvia has focused her studies on Epidemiology (the study of diseases in human or animal populations) and has taken classes on disease surveillance, data collection and analysis, and identifying risk factors for infectious and chronic diseases. She will be covering how the disease is transmitted, what it does the body once the infection starts, and how you can keep yourselves safe.
**Questions about the disease’s origin and specific statistics on community transmission are topics that are still being studied, have not been published by public health agencies, and will not be answered during this session.**

This past Friday, Kris came up with a way to play a virtual version of The Price is Right with some extra challenges. We had lots of fun guessing how much food and household items cost. The extra challenges included guessing how much the price of certain paper products and disinfectants. Our intern Jody won on Friday so there were no prizes distributed, but that may change when/if a members wins!
We are keeping these social hours going and would love to see some more of you join Endwright staff and others for games, trivia, and creative challenges.

Eliza Hittman is an award-winning filmmaker, born and based in Brooklyn, N.Y. Her latest film Never Rarely Sometimes Always premiered in the U.S. Dramatic Competition section at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival, where it received a special jury award. The film had its international premiere in competition in the Berlin Film Festival and released by Focus Features this spring. Beach Rats, her second feature film, premiered in the U.S. Dramatic Competition at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival, where she won the Directing Award. It premiered internationally at Locarno in the Golden Leopard Competition and was the Centerpiece Film at New Directors/New Films. Beach Rats was released domestically by NEON Rated and was a New York Times Critic’s Pick. Her micro-budget debut feature film It Felt Like Love premiered at Sundance in 2013 in the NEXT programming section and was a New York Times Critic’s Pick. Hittman earned an MFA from California Institute of the Arts, has taught at Columbia University, and is currently an assistant professor of film/video at Pratt Institute in New York. She is the recipient of the Emerging Artist Award from Lincoln Center and a 2018 Guggenheim Fellow.

This past Friday, Kris came up with a way to play a virtual version of The Price is Right with some extra challenges. We had lots of fun guessing how much food and household items cost. Join us for Dive Deeper live at the Wonder Under the Waves Aquarium. This week we will learn about the dangers of oil spills in the ocean and do an experiment to see how difficult it is to remove oil once it’s in the water. The O’Neals have been ministering in song and testimony for many years sharing the story of God’s grace in their lives. Melanie was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy as a child and both, she and JB, still marvel at the difference Jesus Christ can make. They have had the privilege of traveling to many churches, festivals, and fairs throughout Indiana and neighboring states. Their love story took on a new dimension when after 17 years of marriage their daughter, Rose was born. She has been singing all her life and recently recorded her own gospel album, As Told By Rose O’Neal. They reside in Martinsville, Indiana.

The Owen County Farmers Market is back! In accordance with the Indiana Governor’s Five-Step Reopening Plan, the market will have its seasonal grand opening on Saturday, May 23 (Memorial Day Weekend), 8:30am-12:30pm. If things continue to go will, the outdoor market will open every Saturday until October 10, 2020. The market will set up in its usual location: Babbs Supermarket’s west-side parking lot, 459 W. Morgan Street (SR46), Spencer Indiana.
We are taking steps to keep people and foods safe. Owen County Farmers Market is an outdoor, fresh air market with wide aisles for social distancing and plenty of space to move around freely. We will have handwashing stations set up around the site. Sterile gloves and new disposable shopping bags will be available. The Board of Health Director, Sheila Reeves, will be at the market to answer any questions you may have and to ensure safety guidelines. We will have a team of experts identify your worst invasive plant species and give you advice on how to control them. The notorious masked bandit of the American Wild West, “Draw” Egan, narrowly escapes a posse of lawmen during a shootout with him and his gang. He flees to the town of Yellow Dog where he assumes the new identity of William Blake (yes, the same name as the English poet and protagonist in Jim Jarmusch’s western, Dead Man). After winning a brawl with a lawless character, he is offered the job of marshal. With eyes for the mayor’s daughter, he accepts and begins cleaning up the town, though it is not long before Egan’s past catches up to him.

A shy adolescent boy, Walter (Haley Joel Osment), is taken by his greedy mother (Kyra Sedgwick) to spend the summer with his two hard-boiled great-uncles, Hub (Robert Duvall) and Garth (Michael Caine), who are rumored to possess a great fortune.
