On today’s edition of Bring It On!, hosts Clarence Boone and Gloria Howell spend the hour with retired United States Marine Corps Major General Dr. Clifford Stanley, former Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness, and retired Marine Corps Master Gunnery Sergeant William Hosea, an occasional Bring It On! contributor and former co-anchor.

Ret. U.S. Marine Corps Major General, Dr. Clifford Stanley

After 37 years of Navy service, Admiral Holsey, commander of U.S. Southern Command, retired in 2025. Through calm judgment, strategic vision, and steadfast conviction, he strengthened partnerships, expanded operational capabilities, and transformed how the United States and regional partners confront narcotrafficking, foreign terrorist organizations, transnational criminal networks, and destabilizing influence.

In October 2025, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth announced that Admiral Holsey would retire at the end of the year, as Holsey oversaw the largest Caribbean naval deployment of his career. Media reports indicated that he was asked to step down and offered his resignation during a tense meeting with Hegseth, where he raised concerns about the legality of U.S. military strikes on suspected drug-trafficking vessels in the Caribbean. Admiral Holsey retired on December 12.

Admiral Holsey’s legacy is not defined by rank or recognition, but by the sailors, Marines, soldiers, airmen, guardians, and civilians he shaped— providing opportunities, challenging them to grow, and believing in their potential through steady, thoughtful leadership. Here to shed light on the growing frustrationshared by most Americans over attacks on military standards and the rule of law are retired United States Marine Corps Major General, Dr. Clifford Stanley, former Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness, and retired Marine Corps Master Gunnery Sergeant, William Hosea, an occasional Bring It On contributor and former co-anchor.
