On April 8, a total solar eclipse passed over Bloomington. In honor of the cosmic event, this episode delves into solar eclipse folklore- from jaguars, to sun-eating frogs, to beheaded demons. Featuring interviews from folklorists and anthropologists, host Brookelyn Lambright, connects the past to the present.

“Even if they aren’t told today, eclipse myths are evidence of what humans have and will always do – create meaning. The creation of folklore, at its core, is a very human one. As long as humans exist, so too will stories.”
