In episode 25, Youth Radio speaks to Ashley Lian, a first-year M.F.A. student in Fiber Arts at Indiana University.
“Ashley Lian (b. 1994) is a Chinese American artist and designer currently based in Bloomington, Indiana. She received her BFA in Humanistic Studies and Fiber with a concentration in Experimental Fashion from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2017. After working for eight years in fashion and textile design for the brand Anthropologie, she now focuses on studio art. Her work primarily focuses on themes of memory, identity, and domestic spaces through piecing, quilting, garments, design, and sculptural forms. She is currently an MFA candidate at Indiana University (2028).”
