Welcome to our Lunar New Year episode on Hearabouts: Asian American Midwest Radio! Hearabouts is produced by WFHB and Indiana University’s Asian Culture Center. We ask critical questions about identity, culture, community and shared assumptions.

In this week’s episode our producers talk about the culture and history of Lunar New Year traditions. Kimber Garland, Elise Lee, and Monica Lu discuss Lunar New Year traditions including eating dumplings and moon cakes, and cleaning your house and wearing the color red. They also discuss the stories and legends surrounding the celebrations.
