Writing books, says Nancy Hiller, is a natural outgrowth of her primary vocation, working with wood. She’s been making cabinets, furniture, and even museum displays for the last 40 years and since 2009 has written a half dozen books on the pleasures and beauties of wood. Toiling in her workshop gives her plenty of time to think and to create both wood treasures and essays on humankind’s oldest building material. Her new book, released this week, is “Kitchen Think,” published by Lost Art Press.

Host Michael Glab goes one-on-one with Bloomington’s most fascinating people every Thursday at 5:30pm.
