Ellettsville Town Planner Frank Nierzwicki Fired

Play

Ellettsville planning director Frank Nierzwicki was fired last night in a somber meeting of the Ellettsville town council. Ellettsville is now left with just one employee in its planning department, assistant plan director Connie Griffin, who takes over Nierzwickiís responsibilities until the council decides whether to restaff the planning director position or contract with an outside consultant to continue meeting its obligation to the city of Bloomington that Ellettsville have a professional planner on duty at least sixteen hours per week. As is usually the case with personnel decisions, council members are tight-lipped about the reason for Nierzwickiís dismissal, and in a moment Nierzwicki himself will point out that the one job review on file in his personnel file was a fairly glowing review of his performance. He asks the council for an explanation and the room falls silent, but first council vice president David Drake speaks just before the vote to terminate in this WFHB radio exclusive.
