After devastating state budgets, Monroe County Schools received a much-needed increase in funding with passage of the November voter referendum that increases local property taxes to make up the difference. With this money Monroe County schools hope to restore programs that were eliminated with summer budget cuts. Rachel Cerrone reports on the state of music education funding in Bloomington schools.
WFHB is proud to partner with the Indiana University School of Journalism for Community Journalism J460, a class taught in part here at WFHB where students learn to produce radio features on issues relevant to the local community. During the fall semester of 2010, students in J460 pursued stories in underreported areas like healthcare, education, criminal justice, and homelessness.
