Senate Bill 0052 passed through Indiana’s House and Senate last month, changing the relationship between physicians and their patients when testing for HIV. The bill deals with consent–how a patient agrees to be tested for HIV, as well as how the results are given to them. Students from a Social Welfare Policy class, part of Indiana University’s School of Social Work, gave a presentation yesterday afternoon about the HIV virus and SB 0052’s effect. This piece was recorded on location at the Monroe County Public Library for today’s WFHB feature report.
