Play

On May 19, five Southern Indiana men were arrested in Tinley Park, Illinois, just outside Chicago. According to police, the men were among a total of 18 people who took part that day in a mob-style attack at a restaurant in Tinley Park. The victims were a group of white supremacists in town for a QUOTE “economic summit” ENDQUOTE, according to a website that claims to represent the attackers. The attackers allegedly used baseball bats and hammers. In the end, approximately ten people were injured. The five men from Indiana, including three brothers from Bloomington, were the only alleged attackers who were arrested. All five are being held in Cook County jail on bonds as high as $250,000. WFHB correspondent Joe Crawford spoke with attorneys for the three Bloomington defendants about their work defending their clients for this WFHB feature exclusive.
