Play

Interchange welcomes Stephanie Solomon and Amanda Nickey of Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard for a discussion on organic gardening, sustainability, food and social justice.  In the first part of the interview, Stephanie tells host William Morris about the function and role of gardening and nutrition in MHC.  She explains how “education” and “self-sufficiency” are at the root of MHC.  Executive Director Amanda Nickey offers listeners a look at a “typical day at MHC”, including the invaluable contribution of MHC’s 150+ volunteers.  Amanda also discusses the “face of hunger” and how MHC emergency food assistance attempts to minimize hunger in Southern Indiana.
