Welcome to Hearabouts: Asian American Midwest Radio! Hearabouts is produced by WFHB and Indiana University’s Asian Culture Center. We ask critical questions about identity, culture, community and shared assumptions.

On today’s episode, Hibah Butt interviews National Asian Pacific American Women’s Forum Policy Director, Vimala Phongsavanh. A daughter of Laotian refugees who grew up in Rhode Island, Phongsavanh advocates for opportunities for Asian Americans.

Later in the program, Host Keiko McCullough introduces us to Electronic Music Artist Shigeto, and speaks about her own experience as a Japanese-American.
