Station seeks listener support to meet fundraising goal
WFHB Bloomington Community Radio, has announced dates for its annual Spring Fund Drive. Beginning March 29th, WFHB will reach out to listeners for support with the goal of raising $46,000 by April 7th. The funds will be used for operations, repairs, upgrades and other general expenses.
WFHB is a 501(c)3 nonprofit, non-commercial community radio station offering news and music programming that promotes cultural diversity and focuses on issues specific to South Central Indiana. Most of WFHB’s content is created or curated by over one-hundred and fifty dedicated volunteers and a small paid staff. WFHB gives volunteers and interns valuable radio experience and some of them have moved on to radio careers across the country. All WFHB local News and Public Affairs content is archived online at WFHB.org.
“WFHB is unique – what you hear on the air comes from our volunteers’ efforts,” says WFHB General Manager, Jar Turner. “It’s not corporate owned or influenced by remote forces trying to push what the next big thing should be, whether that’s the latest pop star or excessive coverage of the latest political gaff. It’s driven by people and not by ratings, which is ironically why I think it’s become a staple of the community for over 25 years.”
Listeners in Bloomington can tune in to 91.3 or 98.1 FM or listen online at WFHB.org. To make a pledge during WFHB’s Spring Fund Drive, supporters can call (812) 323-1200 or go online to wfhb.org to make a secure donation via credit card.
For additional information, please contact Jar Turner at [email protected] or call (812) 323-1200.
