Dr. Mary Ann Fadae of IUPUI joined Interchange correspondent Susan Hu for a very insightful and informative interview on the tenets, structures and rituals of Islam. Mary Ann, an expert in Sufism and Sufi mysticism, explores a wide variety of topics concerning Islamic culture and history, including facts about the Prophet Muhammad, the distinction between Sunni and Shia branches of Islam, the historic roots of Islam through Abraham and Ishmael, and her observations of the Hajj – the pilgrimage to Mecca that all Muslims are required to make at least once in a lifetime.
