The Ryder magazine and film series have been Bloomington institutions through five different decades. Founder, publisher, and film curator Peter Lopilato started the sibling operations in a cramped artists studio doubling as his apartment above what is now the Uptown Cafe — the building was once known as the Chelsea Hotel of Bloomington.
