Today our host Minerva Sosa is welcoming Javier Rosales, who shares his personal story moving from Mexico to Bloomington along with his family. Besides working in the private industry, he serves at the Commission of Hispanic and Latino Affairs at the City of Bloomington.

Maria Auxiliadora’s last show as a host, welcomes Lilian Casillas, Director at La Casa Latino Cultural Center, who shared some of the programs, activities and events hosted by IU La Casa Latino Cultural Center and the services and opportunities that provides to the Latino Students at IU.

For today’s show, Raquel Anderson, Professor at IU for Speech Language and Hearing Sciences, talked about the process of language development in child dual language learners and social factors that impact language input and use.

Ana Cordero, is here to talk about the free services provided by El Centro Comunal Latino, a Non-Profit Organization located inside the Monroe’s Public Library. They help the Latino immigrants arriving to Bloomington to settle down, providing them with information and putting them in contact with partners and agencies. Services provided in Spanish.

Our host Minerva chats with Martha Shedd, Homeowner Services Director from Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County, who shared information about Habitat mission, ways to volunteer and to apply to their programs,  inviting people to work together in partnership, building houses with families in need of safe, affordable housing.

Nuestra host María entrevistando al representante latina de Bloomington Housing Authority, Yaneli, quien trabaja para servir a los ciudadanos de Monroe County, a traves de la promoción de la vivienda y las oportunidades comunitarias, como por ejemplo, el programa de Autosuficiencia Familiar y servicios para las familias.
