DNR to close State Parks for Deer Hunting

The Indiana Department of Natural Resources is closing 17 state parks in November for deer hunts. A press release issued yesterday listed McCormick’s Creek State Park—in Owen county, about 14 miles west of Bloomington—among 16 other state parks to close next Monday and Tuesday. Heavy Storms Batter Area; Monroe County Ready

Fierce storms battered southern Monroe and northern Lawrence counties yesterday afternoon before becoming tornadoes in central Indiana. More than 200 scientists and academics presented a letter to Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb late last week objecting to the logging of the Yellowwood backcountry area.
