He juggles writing verse with trying to get rural electric customers to take a more active role in their energy delivery. Alex Chambers sometimes even combines his two passions, referring to the global climate crisis in his poetry and even, once, writing a poem for an environmental journal. Chambers, an adjunct lecturer at Indiana University, has compiled his first book of poems, Binding: A Preparation, published by Pickpocket Books, an imprint of Ledge Mule Press. Chambers will read from the compilation at a book release party Saturday, December 14th, 7:00pm, at the I Fell Gallery. He’ll be joined by some of Bloomington’s most celebrated poets and creative writers who’ll also read from their own works.
Host Michael Glab goes one-on-one with Bloomington’s most fascinating people every Thursday at 5:30pm. Tune in for a bonus feature, Big Talk Extra, every Monday on the Daily Local News at 5:00pm for added chat from the previous week’s show.
