This week on Interchange, host Alycin Bektesh speaks with Bloomington’s first elected female mayor Tomi Allison. In honor of Women’s History Month, Allison describes the political environment in Bloomington in the 1960’s, 70’s and 80’s, and the experiences that led her to running the city. Allison also speaks about her continued activism following her 13-year tenure in 1995, specifically her role in the Move to Amend petition drive.
